“Couch potato” means a lazy person who is addicted to television watching.

Couch potato is a humorous term coined using the image of a lazy person with the physical shape of a potato slouching on a couch.

Let’s see an example —

“I can’t believe how fit and active you have become. The last time we met, you used to be a couch potato.”

It means that the last time we met, you were fat and lazy and used to watch TV all the time.
